Thank you. It is what I needed today. (from a former pastor's wife)

I’m glad this seemed helpful today. It’s a big, complicated topic, and I’ll probably return to it again and again here. Hopefully, always in an encouraging way.

One of the reasons I signed up for your sub stack account was to hear what you had to say about your faith journey. I met you briefly at the Poiema conference last July and have read (and loved) two of your books. We seem to have very a similar approach to life and what is important to us. I look forward to hearing more.

I was so very disappointed when the Out of the Ordinary podcast ended last May so I eagerly signed up for your sub-stack publication. If this first entry is any indication, it will be a worthwhile investment.

Thank you for so eloquently putting into words what I have felt for the last several years as I have witnessed writers I follow as well as extended family members leave the church for a variety of reasons. (Some reasons seem valid, others...not so much). I have often felt old-fashioned and out-of-touch as I struggled to understand their mindset because I cannot imagine not attending church on Sundays. Not out of obligation or self-righteousness, but because there is something about corporate worship that simply cannot be duplicated elsewhere and you have so beautifully described that in this entry.

Thank you again. I look forward to reading more of your words.
